Fundamentals Class – Month 5 (No-Gi)

Primary Class Description

This is the class where you will be taught, and practice moves appropriate with your level of skill. Emphasis is on gaining understanding of the move of the day, which is typically broken into three parts, and then trying each part in live application scenarios to better understand the finer points you missed in drilling. Class concludes with another drill period to apply your lessons from live application, and a single live round to apply your skills.

This class requires low-mid physical exertion overall.

Note: This class is required for promotions and the techniques are specific to belt rank.

Refinement Class Description

You learned the moves in the class before, now it’s time to really work on refinement and optimization. Drill the move, work on live application scenarios, then attempt them in situational rounds. The refinement comes from your partner providing you feedback in the drill and live application, then applying that feedback in a situational round. You then return the favor, iterating multiple times to take your technique to the next level.

This class requires mid-high physical exertion overall.

Note: This class is not a requirement for promotions but is heavily encouraged.
